We are a successful and dynamic voluntary organisation providing advice, information and range of support to refugees and asylum seekers across London. We wish to appoint an experienced Administrator to join our charity.The main purpose of this position is to co-ordinate and organise the smooth, efficient and effective running of our busy but friendly office environment in a warm, professional and responsive manner and support our youth activities.

You will need experience of direct work with Asylum Seekers/ Refugees, working with charities and extensive knowledge of the issues facing Asylum Seekers. You will also be a strong team player with excellent negotiation and communication skills, and an ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Refugee Youth Worker

NJC Scale 5 pt 15 – £24834 (incl OLW) + 6% pension
1 years fixed term contract (up to 3 years – subject to funding confirmation)

Barnet Refugee Service (BRS) is employing a full time youth worker who can help develop their activities with young refugees and asylum seekers in particular those who are suffering from mental health problems.We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Refugee Youth Worker to join our small and friendly team. The post holder will be responsible to run and develop our existing or new projects while ensuring young refugees and asylum seekers, especially those suffering from mental health problems, have access to a wide range of services and activities.

You will have experience of working with young people and will have a positive attitude and have skills to build relationships with young people and engage them with different activities.You may have experience or talents in a number of areas e.g. sports, arts, communication skills, music and have had some experience of sharing these skills with young people. You will have IT skills and knowledge of databases, an ability to work under pressure and an interest in issues affecting asylum seekers and refugees. You will need flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
