Why become a member of BRS?
– Meet others concerned about the issues that are of concern to refugees and asylum seekers
– Have a say in how the organisation is run and ensure it meets the needs of its users
– Participate and vote in the annual general meeting (AGM)

Membership Rules:
 1. Members can be either individuals or organisations
 2. A member organisation must have a named representative. BRS must be informed at least 7 days before an AGM of any change
 3. Members, or named representatives, must be aged 18 or over
 4. Young people between 16 and 18 years can apply to join as Junior Members
 5. As BRS is a company limited by guarantee individual members/organisations guarantee to pay 1p if BRS is dissolved
 6. BRS reserves the right to terminate the membership of any individual member or organisation who does not attend two consecutive AGMs without prior apologies
 7. There is one vote per individual or organisation
 8. Members will support the aims and objectives of BRS
 9. Members will act in the best interests of BRS
 10. Membership applications will be assessed at the next Board meeting following receipt of the form
 11. The Board reserves the right to decline an application or to terminate the membership of an individual or organisation that it considers has either not supported the aims and objectives of BRS or has acted against the best interests of BRS

Fees
Refugee or asylum seeker: Free
Young person 16-18: Free
Individual (unwaged): Free
Individual (waged): Once-only £5
Organisation: Once-only £5

Please note that as a member of a company your contact details can be inspected by members of the public, Should you not wish your details to be inspected, you can join as an individual Supporter - Please contact the office for the separate Supporter Application Form.
