Ahmad Hashemy

I arrived in UK in August 2012 as an international student, after completing a set of my studies I went back home (Afghanistan) in 2015. However, due to the life threatening warnings from Taliban I had to flew back to the UK as and applied for asylum. I perused my education and am ACCA Affiliate (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and currently studying towards my Master’s degree with UCL (University College London).
I have got few years’ experience of working in retail, finance and volunteered for several non-profit organisations to contribute towards society and communities in Greater Manchester areas where I live. When I heard about BRS and the great job they do to support refugees and asylum seekers I felt it’s time for me to give back to the community and decided to join the Board of Trustees where I can use my experiences, personally as an immigrant and professionally as an accountant. Barnet Refugee service is a great organisation and I am proud to be part of it.
